Privacy Policy

We collect nothing.

Handled · effective 9 October 2026

Unless you turn on iCloud sync, nothing leaves your phone.

What Handled does with your information

Handled reads the papers you scan, the photos and screenshots you choose, and the text you paste, so that it can suggest reminders, calendar events and payments. All of this happens on your iPhone. Your scans, the text read from them, and your items are stored on your iPhone, protected by your passcode.

What is sent anywhere

Nothing, apart from the optional iCloud sync described below. Handled has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It contains no third-party code. We do not collect, receive, sell or share any data about you, and App Store lists Handled as "Data Not Collected".

iCloud sync (optional, off by default)

If you turn on iCloud sync in Handled's Settings, your papers and items are stored in your own private iCloud database, encrypted by Apple, so your other devices can see them. Only your Apple Account can access this data; we cannot. Turning sync off stops new data from syncing; data already in iCloud stays there until you delete it.

Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, camera and notifications

  • Handled asks for each permission only the first time you use something that needs it.
  • Camera: to scan papers. Images are processed on your iPhone.
  • Calendar: write-only access, to add the events you confirm. Handled never reads your existing calendar.
  • Reminders: to add the reminders you confirm, and to tick off a reminder it created when you mark it done in Handled.
  • Contacts: to save a contact you confirm from a paper.
  • Notifications: local nudges scheduled on your iPhone. Nothing is sent through a server.
  • Photos: Handled uses the system photo picker, so it only ever sees the photos you choose.

Apple Intelligence

On iPhones that support it, Handled uses Apple's on-device model to read papers and answer your questions. This runs on your iPhone. Handled does not use cloud models, and the model never receives your page images when you ask a question.

Deleting your data

Settings › Your data › Delete everything removes all papers, page images and items from your iPhone and, if iCloud sync is on, from your iCloud too. Your notification timing settings stay. Deleting the app removes the copy on your iPhone; a synced copy stays in your iCloud until you delete it in Handled or in the Settings app › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage. Anything already added to Calendar, Reminders or Contacts stays in those apps until you remove it there.

Children

Handled does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
